The six 30-minute team group lessons will cover the basics of the golf swing with a professional instructor.  These lessons will be held concurrent with the golf matches.  After each lesson, they will proceed immediately to the “mini-course” with their coach and parent observers and play their 9-hole match with their team.  Keeping score is optional.

The Spring session will consist of three 90-minute team group lessons by a professional golf instructor.  Each team will play six 9-hole tournaments.  Each junior golfer will be required to attend a one-hour “Rules of Golf/Golf Etiquette” seminar.  One parent is required to attend with their junior golfer.
The three 90-minute lessons will be divided into three 30-minute segments covering driving and long irons, chipping and sand play, and putting.  These lessons will be held on three Saturdays prior to the start of tournament play (mid to late March through early April).   One parent is also required to be rostered as “coach.”  However, their main responsibility will be to walk to course with their group.

Golf Courses:
The courses used for play are generally executive par 3 type courses.  A shotgun start is used to get as many matches in as possible.  Typically, it takes 2 to 2-1/2 hours for the juniors to complete their golf matches.  The Fall session will have tee times on Friday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The home course is Pheasant Run in O’Fallon, Missouri.  The Junior Division will play their matches at the Pheasant Run golf course and the Training Division will play their matches at the Pheasant Run Family Golfplex (in the front on Hwy. K).
Depending on the number of participating teams, the Tour 3 golf course has expressed an interest in hosting part of our program.  Also, if we have a significant number of older (7th and 8th grade) juniors who have experience, The Landings at Spirit has expressed an interest in hosting this part of our program on their regulation size course.  An additional fee of $75 per golfer will apply to any teams that play their matches at this course.
