Who is eligible? Any Gateway Academy boy or girl that is currently enrolled at in school.
Registration: Registration will begin in early February, 2009 and run through mid March, 2009. The cost is $45 per child.
Parent participation is MANDATORY to help out with practices and at the meets.
The following Age Groups will be participating: 6*, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13, 14-15
The eligibility of a child to participate in a given age division is determined by his/her age as of June 30th of the previous year(2008). For example, a child that was 10 years of age on June 30th 2008 would be eligible to participate as an athlete in the 9-10 age group even though they may now be 11 years of age.
* There are very limited spots in this age group since there is only the 50m dash, the 100m dash and the standing long jump so participation may be limited.
Format:
There will be two meets sponsored by the CYC. The meets will be held at Chaminade High School. The qualifying meet will be in early May.
The final meet will be held the third weekend in May for those that advance. Participants must participate in the preliminary qualifying meet, and be one of the top 4 in their event to move on to the final meet.

100 Meter Dash
200 Meter Dash
400 Meter Dash
800 Meter Run
1600 Meter Run
Standing Long Jump
Running Long Jump
Shot Put - 6 lbs and 8 lbs (depends on age)
400 Meter Relay (each person runs 100 meters)
800 Meter Relay (each person runs 200 meters)
Each child is guaranteed participation in one event. Not all age groups will participate in all events.
